Standards of Education and PracticeThe QNI supports community nurses by setting standards and sharing models of best practice. Community Nursing Innovation ProgrammeNurse led projects are one of the most direct ways in which we help nurses deliver improvements in patient care. Appropriate staffing, positive health inspections, lack of complaints – these are all things to look for in the search for a good nursing home. As important as these ratings are, however, they are not intended to provide turn-key answers to people who are making a decision about a specific nursing home.

It was a real honour and privilege to be an award winner and wonderful to be recognised by your peers, especially to realise that the Queen had personally signed the certificate for the outstanding service award. The organisation of the event by the QNI staff was superb and made all the award winners feel very special. George Plumptre, Chief Executive of the National Garden Scheme also spoke about the charity supports nursing in the community and has provided funding for a new leadership development programme for Queen’s Nurses. The Fund for Innovation and Leadership project leaders have all completed projects that improved care for male patients in the community during 2017.
